This is a key Operational Excellence role supporting manufacturing. The OpEx Lead encompasses new process design and optimization, supports and improves the existing processes, and continuous improvements. This is a high-visible position that offers an individual the ability to make a significant contribution to the organization.
What you'll be doing
- Design/modify/improve manufacturing and support processes using Operations Excellence techniques such as Total Loss Analysis (TLA) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
- Responsible for supporting and achieving Value Improvement Projects (VIP’s).
- Acquire Baxter Lean and 8 Step Problem Solving certifications as well as achieve 6 Sigma Green Belt certification and implement green belt projects.
- Assist in implementing the Baxter Operating System (BOS).
- Lead OpEx driven training sessions with all levels of the organization.
- Develop and set labor and machine standards to assist with manufacturing budgeting and planning.
- Drive Continuous Improvement Activities.
- Manage and further develop site OEE data collection systems.
- Run numerous projects with minimal supervision.
- Prepare estimates for various tasks and projects.
- Provide technical support/troubleshooting to all plant departments.
- Responsible for adhering to FDA Design Control standards and GMPs at all times.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality, and customer service.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business required. Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
- 2+ years Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Engineering controls experience desired.
- Experience working in an FDA-regulated manufacturing preferred.
- Lean certification is preferred.
- Proven analytical/statistical problem-solving skill and the ability to analyze and interpret basic statistical data is required. Experience with Minitab preferred.
- Project Management skills and experience are desired. PMP preferred.
- Direct experience in a plant Operational Excellence or Continuous Improvement function desired.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a salary range of $52,800 to $132,000 and also includes an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
