Job Summary

• Location – Whitefield, Bangalore
Position Overview
A Senior Engineer for software will be responsible for development of products and providing creative solutions associated with the design, development, and sustaining engineering for our new and existing software product portfolio. The successful candidate will possess solid “hands-on” technical abilities, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design of a module/project, makes design choices for new product development, sustenance activities, field issue resolution etc.
- Responsible for analyzing and understanding the requirements.
- Identifies key module/product level technical risks and assists project manager in developing mitigation and recovery plan
- Review work products and ensure the quality of deliverables
- Provides input to the test strategies at a product level
- Provides guidance to development and test teams with respect to overall design and development.
- Demonstrate the ability work with team members.
- Applies principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and testing techniques.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps.
Qualifications / Experience and/or Background
- Excellent software design and implementation skills
- Strong Object-Oriented development and design knowledge and experience
- Broad understanding of technology & software development principles:
Analysis and Design: Object oriented architecture, Design Patterns
Programming: C, C++, Python, C# etc
Development and Continuous Integration: Visual Studio/Eclipse, SVN, Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, BitBucket, Jira etc.
OS: Embedded Linux, VxWorks etc.
- Experience in working in project teams, involving SW architects, SW engineers.
- Demonstrated success in delivering results on technical challenges.
- Experience in Healthcare domain is a plus
Qualifications:
BE/BTech/MTech in Computer Science/ Electronics or related streams.
Ability and experience as a technical leader for an embedded device (from a software perspective) - work with customer facing stakeholders to understand user needs and convert to high level specifications, coordinate the team effort of multi-disciplinary engineers (electronics, mechanical, firmware) for the design, review and ensure the deliverables meet the specified user needs.
Experience with electro-mechanical design and understanding of electronics concepts (microcontrollers, power supplies, programmable logic).
Experience in managing & writing system requirements including but not limited to security requirements and compliance requirements.
6 to 10 years’ experience in design and development of Software for Embedded devices/products.
Programming experience in C & C++ and Embedded OSes like Embedded Linux, VxWorks etc. is a must.
Experience in Medical/Healthcare domain and knowledge of standards (ISO 13485, IEC 60601, IEC 62304) is a definite plus.
