Job Title:
Engineer II – Embedded Software
Summary:
Baxter has long been on the forefront of developing innovative solutions for patients with kidney disease. This position offers a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to the embedded software development and support of features for Baxter’s CRRT Devices that provides dialysis in ICU environment.
The successful candidate will possess solid “hands-on” technical abilities, an excitement and energy for product development, sustaining current line of software product portfolio and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for programing a feature and/or a small feature set.
- Responsible for analyzing and understanding the requirements and design.
- Contributes to the team and works with direction from Senior Team Members or management, beginning to work independently.
- Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- Applies principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and testing techniques.
- Skilled in writing code, unit testing, that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
- Skilled in core data structures & algorithms
- Participates in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in design and development of Embedded Software.
- Broad understanding of technology & software development principles:
- Analysis and Design: OOAD, Design Patterns
- Programming: C, C++, Python
- OS: Embedded Linux, RTOS
- Broad understanding of networking protocols
- Development and Continuous Integration: SVN, Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, BitBucket, Jira etc
- Ability to organize and present technical status to Technical Leader.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Passionate about continuous learning, can do attitude, wears Thinkers Hat, can work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Can influence, communicate with stakeholders effectively, self-driven.
- Experience in Healthcare domain is a plus
Background and/or Experience:
Bachelors / Masters .in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 2+ years related experience.
