About the role:

Assist the Executive Director with the management of the Bardy Diagnostics (BDx) business unit accounting and finance functions, including the: 

  • Hire and management of BDx accounting personnel
  • Definition of organizational needs, goals, and deliverables 
  • Preparation of financial statements and related reports; and
  • Creation and maintenance of internal controls in compliance with Baxter accounting principals and policies

The Accounting Manager’s primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of BDx financial reporting.  This position is a hands-on approach position and requires a person who is detail-oriented, analytical, organized and a team leader. 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Regular interaction (weekly/daily) with cross functional leadership in operations, customer experience, sales, marketing, R&D and Revenue Cycle, providing key feedback on processes and financial results
  • Supervising personnel within the BDx Accounting team. The Accounting Manager hires and retains staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet Company needs and objectives.
  • Ensuring adherence to Company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls
  • Maintaining the Company's system of accounts and internal controls pertaining to those accounts and financial transactions.  
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements including analysis of variances from planned expenditures.
  • Maintain BDx the NetSuite ERP system used by BDx to ensure its overall integrity, that users are adequately trained and follow protocols.
  • Working with or serve as project manager to optimize procedures and business application software.
  • Manage day to day inventory tracking and the establishment of appropriate valuation reserves
  • Conduct physical inventory counts of finished product and components stored onsite and at contract manufacturing locations
  • Oversee billing and accounts receivable collections for sales to distributors and institutional customers
  • Oversee computation of sales commissions and bonuses
  • Oversee processing of accounts payable
  • Assist Corporate Tax department in the areas of sales and use taxes and state income taxes

What You'll Bring:

  • Solid technical accounting skills and up-to-date knowledge of GAAP
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Focus on a positive work environment and mentoring/developing staff
  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related subject
  • CPA Certification
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience required. Proven track record of leading, coaching and developing talent. This position has 4-5 direct reports
  • Ability to maintain quality and productivity when faced with time pressures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Ability to tailor and deliver messages at various levels within the organization
  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Current knowledge of GAAP and solid technical accounting skills
  • Past work experience in an accounting firm or audit function, preferred
  • Past work experience in a new commercial enterprise confronting rapid growth, preferred
  • Experience working with NetSuite, SAP, JD Edwards or similar ERP systems, preferred
  • Experience implementing new ERP systems, preferred
