Summary

Working closely with production and reporting to the Microbiology Supervisor in Compounding, the Microbiologist will be responsible for supporting the testing and analysis of microbiological samples. You will be working in a busy environment ensuring products are safely released complying with Baxter standards and GMP guidelines.

This role is days, 09:00-17:00 but offers flexibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform testing in the production environment and other laboratory experiments, generation of data and test records, in compliance with the regulatory and industry standards.
• Supports the execution of microbiological investigations within Compounding
• Review and approval of routine laboratory test data
• Follows the established procedures and guidelines
• Actively participates in any document/procedure revisions under guidance of the manager or other senior microbiologists.
• Supports and encourages their peers with continuous improvements within the laboratory.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Microbiology/scientific
• Experience working in a laboratory working to GMP guidelines
• Experience working in an aseptic or sterile environment is beneficial
• Excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
• At least 1 years experience in a Microbiologist role  
• Experience working with LIMS system (desired not essential)
• Experience with environmental monitoring
• Strong work ethic
• Good computer skills
• Good attention to detail
