Our Thetford Compounding team are recruiting for a Continuous Improvement Supervisor to join the team. This role is based on site in Thetford, Monday - Friday and you will report to the Process Improvement Manager.
Compounding at Baxter manufacture chemotherapy, antibiotics and nutrition so it would be great to hear from candidates from a pharmaceutical background however this is not essential and we welcome applications from candidates that come form any sector where you are following GMP guidelines / familiar with a highly regulated background.
The role of the Continuous improvement Supervisor is to support the compounding site Unit management team to monitor and improve organisational processes with the aim of making them as efficient as possible increasing capacity and decrease costs.
What will you be doing?
- Be a Subject Matter Expert in lean principles and problem-solving tools
- Use a high energy approach to map out workflows, removing waste, low-value activities, support operations and other departments within the unit to drive and sustain change.
- Collaborate with the site UMT to identify and drive, CI and ensure sustainability.
- Deliver Kaizen and Margin Improvement project workshops establishing measurable standards at the start of a project and compare actual project results against these, regularly generating detailed update reports for the Unit Manager.
- Lead, sustain and improve the scrap reduction projects.
- Liaise with Scrap champions from all UK sites and share best practices.
- Present monthly scrap report to members of EMEA SLT as required.
- Support the PI manager in the implementation of the Baxter Operating System.
- Lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of visual management within the compounding units.
- Lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of 6S program across the within the compounding units.
- Lead and Support A3 investigations. Own project overview meetings and support the unit where required to ensure progression and completion of key projects.
- Support Quality investigations and CAPA implementation where required.
- Support with Change Controls were required.
What are we looking for?
- Highly analytical
- experience with project coordination and able to lead organisational change.
- Use your problem-solving skills to foresee obstacles and make strategic decisions
- A firm understanding of process improvement techniques and with experience applying these to make organisational changes.
- Continuous improvement supervisors spearhead both the planning and implementation stages of projects, so you must be organised and committed to meeting deadlines
- Inspire other team members to give their best effort and setting the direction for many initiatives
- A sharp eye for identifying weak points in processes
- The ability to speak, listen, and write well is important, as continuous improvement supervisors often hold presentations, facilitate meetings and trainings, and create reports.
