Your Role

As a Manufacturing Operator in the Plating Department, you will carry out routine tasks and inspection of plated parts as well as employ various techniques while working to acceptable levels of output.

What You'll Be Doing

  • You will perform basic visual and/or physical in-process testing/inspections to ensure high quality standards are met.

  • Rotate among stations within work center/department and may be assigned to more complex tasks, as needed, to facilitate cross training and to cover department/work center needs.

  • Your ability to work from blueprints, diagrams, and process sheets will help you to determine set-up procedures, equipment, materials needed, assembly process, safety precautions, cycle time and related requirements.

  • In this role, you may work with basic chemicals in performing job duties.

  • You will work with a diverse group of people and a positive and enthusiastic attitude will aid you in assisting higher-level associates in more complicated job duties, as needed.

  • Diagnose faulty operations, product imperfections, and/or equipment malfunctions to work with technical and supervisory personnel to resolve discrepancies.

  • Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory count of completed work as well as monitoring work and insuring requirements are being met with regard to schedule, quality and quantity.

  • You may package component parts or assemblies for shipment, ensuring protection from potential shipment damage and that all necessary parts and instructions are present.

What You'll Bring

  • A high school diploma or equivalency

  • 1 year of successful experience in assembly/related functional area is required.

  • You must have good mechanical dexterity/eyesight, able to read, write and use basic math; maintain a high degree of accuracy in performing repetitive tasks.

  • The successful candidate is able to adapt to a changing work environment, including increased automation, change in production methods or sequences and rotation among workstations.

  • You must work well with others and actively participate in team problem-solving activities.

  • You may be requested to work overtime, as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Be able to lift 40lbs and work in various positions: standing, sitting, and working on repetitive jobs/assemblies.

  • The worker is required to have natural or corrected near-distance visual acuity of 20/25 and the ability to differentiate between colors.
