Your Role at Baxter
Develop, implement, and administrate all applicable health, safety and industrial hygiene support programs and policies. Provide compliance with all federal, state and local safety and health regulations. Act as primary liaison with external regulatory agencies.

What you'll be doing
Develop, implement, manage, and/or ensure compliance for Health, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene compliance programs.
Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring as required.
Develop plant wide safety related training.
Evaluate and act upon new safety regulations.
Maintains Baxter safety requirements.
Maintains open communications with city and county fire and rescue departments.
Advises management of safety audit nonconformance and corrective action required.
Serves as a resource person for the plant safety team.
In collaboration with management, assist in developing and implementing site policies concerning health and safety issues.
Interfaces with division personnel to ensure compliance with corporate and division safety requirements.
Provide management assistance in maintaining ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 certified status and setting goals and targets for all EHS programs having significant impact.
Serve as the local administrator for InSite (Baxter internal computer tracking software for safety).
Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance to regulations and company policy.
Review and update all safety programs and procedures as needed.
Perform industrial hygiene monitoring for the site using OSHA/NIOSH methods to determine employee and environmental safety.
Provide technical information on safety issues on new equipment, method of performing work, with equipment, and risk to employee health.
Conduct or participate in audits for compliance with site programs and policy, reporting the results to the site Environmental, Health and Safety Associate Director.
Provide non-routine problem solving to engineering and research and development groups through participation in committees.
Prepare and/or assist with composing Regulatory & Agency (OSHA and EPA), Corporate, and Divisional reports.
Interface with regulatory agencies on compliance issues under the direction of the Site Environmental, Health and Safety Associate Director.
Provide specialized training required by OSHA and company requirements to employees.
Interpret industrial hygiene data to insure conformance with requirements.
Make decisions concerning compliance with OSHA regulations and company polices.
Knowledge of basic statistics to interpret data is required.
Interfaces daily with employees to explain safety requirements and to answer questions.
Communicates with corporate, division and plant management personnel in solving problems, developing corrective action, and training.
What you'll bring
Bachelor’s Degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or physical sciences curriculum required
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience with industrial hygiene monitoring. Strong understanding of chemicals and chemical safety.
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance with experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience performing ergonomic evaluations of workstations
Strong communication skills are required.
Demonstrated ability to absorb technical information and put into use.
Demonstrated skill in setting objectives and managing projects.
Prefer professional certification in Safety and Industrial Hygiene.
Prefer radiation/laser officer certification.
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $76,000 - $104,500 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus.
