Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Consult with functional management on a variety of HR and business-related issues, both strategically and operationally.
- Partner with senior leadership team locally and globally to translate and ensure alignment to the local HR legislation and corporate vision and strategy.
- Drive and lead HR overall processes.
- Manage day-to-day Employee Relations, staffing and compensation.
- Implement HR programs and initiatives in Malta Site, i.e. Manufacturing / R&D and Global Functions.
- Manage the Baxter Employer Brand for Baxter in Malta, showcasing Baxter as a Best Place to Work and Employer of Choice.
Employee Relations
- Collaborate with management to communicate company policies, updates, and initiatives to employees.
- Facilitate channels for employees to provide feedback and suggestions, and work to address their concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Assist in resolving disputes between employees or between employees and management, aiming for a fair and equitable resolution.
- Work with management and legal teams to develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures that comply with labor laws and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
Talent Management
- Collaborate with managers to establish clear performance expectations, provide feedback, and develop performance improvement plans when necessary.
- Lead competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
- Promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment, ensuring that recruitment, development, and retention practices are fair and inclusive for all employees.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in HR, preferably in a multi-national or complex organization, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive HR leadership experience, or highly related field.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR policies and programs that are compliant and effective.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and mentor HR team members.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to make informed decisions and drive HR strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and business leaders to align HR strategies with the organization's overall objectives.
- Strong understanding of talent management, including recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, and retention strategies.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and able to adapt to changing priorities and needs.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree or equivalent experience.
- Number of years of experience: 5 – 8 years
