Job Summary
• Job Title – Principal Eng, Test
• Location – Whitefield, Bangalore
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the verification team to understand fully the design specification; design a verification environment and interact with design engineers to identify important verification scenarios.
- Lead the development of tests and the creation of top-level and block-level test-benches, stimulus and coverage metrics.
- Coordinate the debug process of failing test cases along with the design team.
- Ensure delivery of verified design blocks for sign-off, meeting defined functionality, performance and coverage requirements. Drive improvements in test execution, quality and delivery.
- Lead the development and documentation of product test case.
- Identifying Testing Risks and own the Risk Mitigation Plans.
- Work within Agile team to deliver quality products as one team
- Guide the team on proper verification approach
- Assist/guide in authoring, reviewing and execution of verification test cases
- Provide input to Trace Matrix to ensure the traceability of the requirements to tests is intact
- Co-ordinate the verification activities during SDLC
- Compile Verification Test Summary Report at conclusion of formal verification phase for submission
Qualifications:
- Ability to lead small to medium sized team technically and raising his/her own performance and others from time to time
- A demonstrated track record in regulated software development, preferably medical devices or other highly regulated products such as aviation software.
- Experience in executing verification strategies including and not limited to functional, non-functional, reliability, performance.
- Experience in re-defining test architecture and test automation frameworks
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Experienced and demonstrated superior global collaboration
- Demonstrates spirit of innovation
- Demonstrated risk taking ability and challenging status quo
Background and/or Experience:
Bachelors / Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 10+ years of related experience.
Desired Characteristics
- Hand’s on experience on defining the test strategy and test architecture for software applications
- Minimum 3+ years practical software QA experience (
- Excellent planning and organization skills, and committed to delivering on aggressive deadlines
- Expertise in ALM and JIRA tool
- Knowledge of Clear Quest, Team Center is preferred
- Strong communication skills – written & verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a collaborative environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
- Experience in Test Automation with Selenium is preferred
- Knowledge of medical device software development is highly preferred including knowledge of standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 14971
