Process Improvement Engineer

          To take a lead role in the improvement of key processes.   This will include process mapping and redesign to help improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.   Will also

          include working with project teams in the documenting of current procedures, together with setting out and documenting new procedures and processes, where appropriate.


He/she has responsibility for implementing process and automation improvements and as a member of the Engineering organisation in the sustaining and continuing development of all manufacturing processes in our Castlebar and Swinford facilities.


Duties & Responsibilities


o    Lead small project teams as needed to accomplish project business objectives.


o    Develop concepts for new automated/ semi automated manufacturing equipment


o    Develop Design requirements and Specification of same


o    Installation, Commissioning, and validation of manufacturing plant and processes (from Mixing /Fill Lines through Assembly and Pack equipment)


o    Troubleshooting and debug of equipment


o    Resolve ongoing performance issues of processes & machines


o    Implement new GMP / EHS projects


o    Perform standard engineering assignments


o    Select sound engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations under direction of supervisor.


o    Utilize engineering tools to solve straightforward problems & apply lean principles.


o    Monitor and report project costs including capital and cross-functional expenses.


o    Recommend capital expenditure and production methods for existing or enhanced products or processes.


o    Study, evaluate & recommend techniques to improve existing products/processes.


                     o     Investigate new sources for raw materials or processes.

Who you are


Ideally candidates will hold a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or chemical Engineering (other disciplines may also be considered). A minimum of 3 to 5  years' relevant experience in a similar industrial environment would be an advantage. Excellent leadership and proven team management abilities, coupled with a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, are highly desirable.

·         Results and customer  oriented


·         Strong decision making skills


·         Good Oral and written communications


·         M’S Project planning tool or equivalent


·         Familiarity with PLC based control system


·         CAD skills (preferable)


·         Familiar with CE requirements for machines(pref)


·         Familiar with working within a highly regulated environment.
