The Job
 
  • The Manufacturing Technologist is a key member of the maintenance organisation in sustaining and thecontinuing development of all manufacturing and support processes in our Castlebar and Swinford facilities.
  • He/she will have a key role in daily manufacturing operations, implementing reactive, preventative and process development maintenance tasks.
  • They will participate in the creation of a modern maintenance organisation with responsibility for the development of methods, techniques, procedures and systems to improve the overall effectiveness of our manufacturing processes.
  • The MT is responsible for performing planned maintenance routines on equipment. Ensuring that the equipment in their area is running at best OEE level and any availability, performance or quality issues are addressed in an efficient and timely manner. 
  • The MT will provide a daily shift report to their supervisor and appropriate handover at end of shift.
  • The role involves close liaison with engineering controls, production and quality departments.
  • Previous experience in the medical manufacturing industry would be an advantage.
  • May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications – External
  • The ideal candidate should hold a relevant accredited multi skilled trade’s qualification and should be familiar with plc controls, Low voltage controls, pneumatic and hydraulic systems or hold equivalent technical certification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, preference for Mechatronics qualification and minimum of 5 yrs experience.
  • Previous experience of TPM and implementation of same.
  • The Manufacturing Technologist is a key member of the maintenance organisation in sustaining and the continuing development of all manufacturing and support processes.
  • Providing innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Candidates should be familiar with mechanical systems, PLC controls, Robotics, Vision Systems, low-voltage controls, pneumatic Systems, Process skids, RF welding & filling / packaging equipment. 
  • The successful candidate must possess good interpersonal and team skills, complemented with a high level of multidiscipline technical aptitude.
  • Candidates must be capable of effectively identifying and proactively resolving complex technical issues by direct intervention and correction.
  • Experience of working on process automated equipment and troubleshooting highly automated equipment.
  • Able to work on own initiative with minimum level of instruction.
  • The successful candidate must possess good interpersonal and team skills, complemented with a high level of multi-disciplined technical aptitude.
