Candidate Identified.  The Engineering Intern/Co-op will work in multi-discipline teams within Baxter’s business groups and assist engineers in performing product support activities such as root cause investigations and design change implementations. The Engineering Intern/Co-op may also be involved in new product development activities such as prototype fabrication and testing, and be an active member of brainstorming sessions.
Baxter is committed to developing its employees and providing them with opportunities that are personally challenging and professionally rewarding.  The internship/co-op will allow the student to gain hands-on experience with different aspects of development and support of electro-mechanical medical device products in a large and global medical device corporation.  In addition, the student will receive mentoring from his/her manager and teammates.  The experience and mentoring will complement the student’s studies to prepare them for a successful engineering career.  Engineering interns/co-ops who excel in the Internship/Co-op Program will be considered for the Technical Development Program or other full-time engineering positions.


    • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical and Biomedical)

    • Completed Sophomore year in degreed program and enrolled in school the term following the internship/co-op.

    • Strong academic performance – Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent

    • Proven track record of having a high level of initiative  and delivering on commitments

    • Demonstrates excellent skills in organization, team dynamics, effective communication and prioritization of tasks

    • “Passion” for Engineering with a desire for a career in technology
