Responsible for managing supply chain processes for the South African business (Sales 40M$) and act as an integrated link among multiple functions (Sales & Marketing, Warehousing & Distribution, Finance, Quality, Regulatory).
Responsible for operational relationship with Customers and leadership of 3PL (IHS) for our Direct business – South African P&L value of 2M$
Responsible for developing and owning sustainable, compliant supply chain across South Africa (and bordering countries) that supports our 10/15% year on year sales growth & geographic expansion commitment balancing cost and fulfillment to our patient. Optimization of operational flows, performance measurement processes and results while supporting business service agreements.
The role will be specifically measured on, Fulfillment (OTIF / backorder @ ASP), supply chain P&L delivery, VIP as % of sales and forecast accuracy.
This role will be part of the South African Leadership Team and ECEMEA Supply Chain regional leadership team.


Demand Planning & SIOP
  • Own and lead formalized multifunctional South Africa cluster SI&OP (GM, Finance Director, Commercial Heads & RA/QA) to ensure delivery of 40m$ sales and 10/15% growth commitment
  • Work with commercial heads on demand calibration and smoothing initiatives where required.
  • Collaborate with Finance Community to validate Logistics & Financial Forecast by identifying gaps/opportunities/assumptions.
  • Drive Geographic expansion commercialization initiatives through SIOP ensuring supply chain readiness to support launch commitments and or acceleration.
  • Support Product Conversions: Ensure new forecasting & order management processes in place as conversions take place and monitor plan locally
  • Sales analysis and follow up on forecast assumptions.
  • Identify process gaps & solutions and make recommendations to enhance results.
  • Maintain and monitor customer collaboration activities / collaborative forecast.
  • Drive Standardization/optimization of tools process and forums in line with global standards / roadmapS
Inventory Management (Direct/Semi-Direct) Business
  • Low cover management.
  • Low cover control and warnings.
  • Follow up utilizing Back Order comments.
  • Pipeline visibility: Timely and proactively transmit full pipeline info on backorder, low cover products to Customers and Marketing, inform on product replacement, substitution and obsolescence and support allocation plan.
  • Slow Moving/Excess Inventory Management.
  • Manage Replenishment flow to ensure adequate Inventory Level
Financial P&L
  • P&L ownership for South Africa Supply Chain 2M$
  • Control/manage/communicate monthly
  • Own quarterly fncl planning for supply chain / annual budge
  • Drive pipeline of improvement initiatives to save minimum 5% cost annually
Other Activities
  • Drive Standardization/optimization of tools, process, and forums in line with global standards / roadmap
  • Data Integrity: check and correct data accuracy issues with regard to master files.
  • Code creation proposal.
  • Support daily customer service processes (control of consignment, backorders, low cover) 
  • Full participation and support of Supply Chain Planning projects
  • Follow-up releases and labeling priorities with QC
  • Maintain country profile / SLA for the country
  • Create and publish Monthly Reports (Order Fulfillment, Billable report…) and Weekly reports (Open Orders, Back-Orders…) with gap analysis
  • Act as Primarily contact with regional team for MEA Order Management process

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in business or other technical discipline. APICS certification an advantage.
  • Working in a global supply chain and knowledge of end to end processes
  • Taking a global strategy and driving and adapting into Africa


  • Strong end to end Supply Chain experience with a minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Strong analytical and process improvement skills
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office package tools
  • Working knowledge of JDE erp platform
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Languages: Proficiency in English
