The job holder will be required to:

  • Perform routine research and development assignments of related tasks which form part of larger projects. These tasks provide experience and familiarization with the engineering staff, methods, techniques, theories, Corporate and division SOP's, policies and projects.
  • Documentsdevelopment work including writing specifications for manufacturing or scientific test results.
  • Solve routine design and research tasks with some assistance. Able to solve problems with periodic monitoring.
  • Assist in the preparation of and participates in technical reviews; Responsible for organizing data and preparing appropriate documentation for assigned projects.
  • Act independently with minimal supervision to conduct smaller approved projects. Expected to make suggestions on improvements based on recent technical knowledge.
  • Contribute routine scientific knowledge or expertise to research and development activities for achievement of project goals. Solve routine experimental design or research problems with some assistance. ("Routine knowledge" implies a "solid understanding of technical field or administrative functions.")
  • Under direction, conduct routine research and/or developmental activities. Plan details of assigned tasks within specific parameters.
  • Employ appropriate techniques and methods to successfully conduct specific assignments within negotiated deadlines after receiving general instruction.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of basic technical theories and principles within area of expertise for routine tasks.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of GxP and related regulations and guidance.
  • Assess feasibility of simple research and design concepts within area of expertise.
  • In consultation with R&D management, the R&D Associate will define the needs for improving the processes and any other resources required for the completion of the design and development phase.

Who you are:


  • Bachelor of Sciences (Hons.) or a qualification in a Science related subject.
  • Able to work in a team, adhere to deadlines and be flexible.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
