Operator, Amplas  12 hour Night Shift

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates Amplas/Sidesealer machine.
Performs set up of machine.  Changes dies, rollstock, tubestock
material.  Responsible for correct die, rollstock, and tubestock
as specified by Bill of Material.   Records pertinent information
on logs and labels.  Examines product to insure compliance to
specifications.  Evaluates defective units and rolls, investigates
cause and performs trouble shooting.  Performs quality checks,
parameter checks, dimensional checks and destructive testing.
Releases product based upon quality checks.  Places tubestock into
poly liners.  Packs for IPSO, build boxes, and band.  Obtains and cleans
closets.  Collects and distributes re-claimable units/rolls. 
Performs TPM tasks.  Reads specifications,
procedures, Bill of Materials, Blueprints.  Computes overpouch/
tubestock length, width and thickness by addition and subtraction
of fractions.  Relocates released product onto pallet. Records
accounting information (weight of tote, rollstock, and tubestock,
etc.).  Calculates amount of material used, records good product
by use of conversion factor.  Dispositions product release / reject based on quality test data and visual inspection.  Supports Safety, 6S, GMP, and TPM efforts in the area and reports any of these or quality issues to Supervision as needed. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematics. 
Must conform to the North Cove dress code and
safety procedures for this area.  May use small hand tools, ruler,
and calculator.  Computes product tolerances by addition and subtraction
of fractions.  Calculates number of units produced by
use of conversion factors (dividing by decimals). 
Must successfully complete job specific training including
an acceptable score on a written exam.  Level 5/6 certification Overtime as required.  Physical effort requires lifting and carrying 5 -10 pounds, an average of 4 ft, approximately 1350 times per shift.  Additionally requires lifting and carrying 26-50 pounds, an average of 3 feet, approximately 38 times per shift.  Occasionally works in difficult position with walking, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or stretching efforts a part of the job.  Manual dexterity and visual acuity required.  Good eye/hand/foot coordination could be necessary as well.
