The primary focus of the Human Resources Specialist is to provide HR Generalist support in the areas of:  Employee Relations, HR policy updates/administration/communication, and facilitating/conducting HR audits as required and managing HR projects.  This role includes administering and facilitating Baxter Canada’s new hire OnBoarding, New Hire Orientation and OffBoarding.

 

Employee Relations

• Provides coaching and recommendations to all employees, Supervisors and Managers on managing through conflict situations, investigating and tactfully resolve issues, ensuring HR policies comply with applicable laws.  Partners with managers in finding win/win solutions to their issues and provides a safe environment for employees to bring forward issues to resolution.

 

Policy & Compliance

• Conduct annual review of all HR policies to ensure compliance with federal / provincial governing bodies and update accordingly

• Communicate and update to stakeholders

• Recommend develop/revise and implement HR policies and procedures

• Interpret and communicate policies to managers and employees ensuring consistent and efficient application, provide support and coaching

• Ensure HR Business Operating Procedures and Policies have been assigned, reviewed and recorded by applicable employee population

 

HR Projects

• As required, lead or participate in the development and implementation of global or regional projects related to HRIT upgrades, implementation of new policies, Talent management, Annual Compensation Review, and Talent Acquisition.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

Education Level

Required:

• University/College Degree

Preferred:

• Human Resources Certification or Designation

 

Major Subjects / Specialties

Required:

• Human Resources

• Project Management

Preferred:

• Human Resources

• Communications

 

Type of Experience

Required:

• 7 or more years of progressive Human Resources experience in an external client facing capacity.

• High comfort level in interacting and navigating across multiple levels within an organization and with external partners

Preferred:

• 5 or more years of Employee Relations, HR Policies and HR Project Management

• 2 or more years of Recruitment/Talent Acquisition/OnBoarding or Orientation Experience

• Strong Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

 Years of Experience

Required:

• 5 or more years in an internmediate level Human Resources roles

• Strong communications skills

Preferred:

• 5 – 7 progressive HR experience

 

Additional Skills / Special Training / Technical Skills Required

Required:

• Strong Interpersonal and Communications Skills

• Proven ability to work with all levels in the organization

• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers

• Tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues

• Knowledge and experience with staffing and sourcing technologies
