The position is accountable for supporting the supply planning management for Baxter Hayward's supply chain.  This role will be responsible for process improvement solutions to solve operational and business inefficiencies by using analytical and process improvement methodologies, implementing and managing a framework that maximizes customer service by optimizing working capital and overall supply chain costs.

1. Ensure customer service target is maintained at optimized inventory levels by procuring supply to meet the production plan, creating purchase orders and tracking through receipt.

2. Directly supports the procurement and disposition of raw materials in response to MPS, MRP, and Manufacturing requirements.

3. Provides analysis to identify opportunities for improved supply utilization, standardization, and process improvement; evaluates findings and makes recommendations.

4. Development and execution of short and mid-term purchasing plans including PO creation.

5. Complete portfolio lifecycle management ensuring financial risk mitigation.  Responsible for identification, reporting and mitigation of inventory write-off and excess inventories risk to minimize Slow and Obsolete Inventory.

6. Builds and maintains constructive relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners / suppliers, and Baxter International functions including, but not limited to, manufacturing, quality assurance, finance, and regulatory affairs

7. Analyze, establish and maintain planning inputs, including material lead-times, safety stock targets, production minimums, economic order quantities, ROP’s etc. and initiate actions to optimize all contributing variables with site production plans to ensure execution of the MRP and urgent customer issues.

8. Support the Financial Inventory budgeting process and implementing initiatives to optimize inventory performance.

9. Monitor and disposition obsolete parts and supplier returns for rejected products and help resolve supplier's quality issues.

10. Develop an in-depth knowledge of suppliers, technologies, manufacturing processes and purchasing strategies for assigned areas. Establish partnerships that are mutually beneficial to both Baxter and suppliers.

11. Establish and maintain effective communication with all levels within Baxter; ensure that procurement processes meet the requirements of Baxter and suppliers with Total Quality Management (TQM) in mind.

12. Responsible for the development, implementation and management of standard operating procedures and adherence to Baxter’s established practices and procedures.

13. Support the development and implement of cost/service improvement initiatives including mapping key value creation processes and the corresponding reduction of waste activities using Lean techniques

Broad understanding of ERP supply chain processes and principles.  Supply chain exposure regarding transportation, warehousing and manufacturing operations.
SYNC mSE Solutions, Cognos, Demantra, JDE and Demand Solutions experience


Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business or technical field preferred. APICS certification preferred. 2- 3 years experience preferred. Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry background desired.
