Role Responsibilities
The Technical Services Field Engineer is responsible for:
  • Performing service activity on products supplied by Baxter within the geographical area of responsibility (The Netherlands).
  • Performing sales support activities on products & processes within the geographical area of responsibility
  • Install, service and maintain Baxter products in line with acquired certifications
  • Establish and maintain communication and partnership with customers, team members and business contacts
  • Ensure all activities are performed following the available instructions and information, within the Quality system framework
  • Ensure all activities are carried out with maximum attention towards GDP, GMP and EHS rules
  • Report all relevant service activity, to ensure updated and accurate service data in the ERP service systems
  • Immediately escalate to supervisor any complaint or issue linked to its service activities
  • Identify and report any business opportunity with our customers
  • Being a direct interface with our customers, mainly to handle complaints, it is essential to be able to handle stressful situations
  • Compliance with country specific requirements
  • Perform phone assistance to patients or customers and participation to the on-call duties program as defined in the on call policy


Skills and Experience 
  • This function requires a technical degree (preferably medical instrumentation, electro-mechanics or hydraulics) or equivalent through experience.
  • The main skill of a TS Field Engineer is the continued commitment to deliver the best service solution for our customers and patients, and doing this in an efficient and cost effective way.
  • Disciplined, independent in executing tasks, but also a strong team player
  • Able to work independently and open to empowerment and direct responsibilities
  • Driven to deliver high quality service
  • Customer focused
  • Team spirit and maximum flexibility is required
  • Language skills:
    • Dutch: mother tongue or fluent, both written and read
    • Reading, understanding and basic conversation in English are a must
  • Technical skills:
    • Basic understanding/knowledge of electronics
    • Basic understanding/knowledge of ESD protection
    • Basic understanding/knowledge of the Medical Device Directive
    • Understanding/knowledge of hydraulics is an advantage but not a must
  • IT skills:
    • Natural interest in IT applications
    • Basic use of current Windows operating systems
    • Basic use of MS office applications (Word, Excel, …)
