The role of a Chemist is responsible for supporting the chemical testing required during various stages of the manufacture of products at Thetford. They must work as part of a team to ensure the required testing is performed following established practices and within the required time frames.
Perform testing on various process samples
Participate in any required laboratory investigations as required
Follow the established procedures when performing batch testing and adjustments
Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) always and ensure the work area they are responsible for is
maintained in a clean and tidy state
Support and encourage peers with continuous improvements within the laboratory
Work with the Senior Chemist to organise their work to ensure the manufacturing needs are met
Provide support for the Laboratory Manager in any reasonable request relating to the laboratory operation
- Science based qualification at degree level or equivalent, ideally in a Chemistry based subject
Experience in working within a laboratory environment is preferable but not essential
This position will require the successful applicant to work on two-shifts rotating, early shift (6am – 2pm) and day shift (9am-5pm). There will be an occasional 5am start required on early shift
