The main responsibilities for the role of a Patient Services Coordinator will be the order entry of prescriptions, prescription management and product order entry on the internal system, adding new patient information to the system ready for delivery of treatments, patient stock checking for treatments, homecare delivery scheduling advising on timeslots and clinical waste, liaising with patients, hospitals for prescription requests and invoicing issues.
You will be speak with the nursing team to ensure they are aware of the situation on prescriptions, matching invoices and archiving of prescriptions, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and ready for warehouse picking and packing. You will have accurate dispensing skills reporting on near misses, dispensing errors and remaining confidential at all times.
You will be trained within 4 different therapy units covering each area for a month before moving onto the next to ensure you understand the business process and the critical nature between each therapy.
Small volume and large volume product order entry on the PMR system
Prescription checklist management and tracking of faxes
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Administrative tasks including archiving and invoicing
Adhered to standard operating procedures and follow instructions from the RP, duty pharmacist or operations manager
Safe and clean working environment of the pharmacy
Reporting service issues using appropriate form
Skills and Experience
- NVQ 2 or Level 3 Dispensary Assisting course qualification preferable
- Experience of working within a Pharmacy
- Office skills are essential with experience of us Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
