The Role
As an Analytical Chemist, you will be responsible for the development and validation of new analytical methods, and the transfer of those methods to new product lines. You will also be involved in the chemistry testing of trial product.
  • Write and execute analytical method and instrument validations.
  • Instrument troubleshooting and investigation management.
  • Preparation of batch documentation as well as review and approval of data lab reports and protocols.
  • Delivering analytical chemistry projects within agreed timeframes.
  • Preparation and updating specifications and procedures.
  • Co-ordinate activities for the Analytical Development Laboratory through Baxter’s Enterprise Management System and Project Board meetings.
  • Help maintain a quality assurance program and procedures for the Analytical Development Chemistry Lab.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory and equipment.
  • Ensuring the Analytical Development laboratory is operated in a compliant manner.
  • Responsible for communicating Analytical Development activities to Baxter Castlebar management and US and European R&D centres as well as third parties.
  • Attend meetings and teleconferences for R&D projects.


  • Applicants must hold a minimum of a B.Sc in Chemistry.
  • Relevant Pharmaceutical/Healthcare experience.
  • Proven ability to operate cross-functionally.
  • Must be able to work different shift patterns occasionally to accommodate manufacturing schedules.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
