This position is responsible for the facility work environment including coordination of all facility maintenance requirements, active participation in Joint Health & Safety Committee, facility services/validation, security, and managing the building automation system. Additional responsibilities will include managing Vendor relationships, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, and implementing improvement solutions in compliance with Business and Quality requirements.

Responsible for leading the Work environment management & improvement initiatives at the facility:

o Coordinate all facility maintenance activities with Quality and Operations to ensure compliance and minimize disruption

o Services

o Security

o Employee communication systems

o Employee improvement idea program

o Enterprise Management Systems (EMS) initiatives, including 6S and visual management

o Facility tours

o Lead and support facility capital projects

o Lead and support continuous improvement projects

• Liaises with the Baxter Head Office Manager to ensure services support, performance and compliance, relative to the required facility services

• Ensure preventative maintenance is performed per requirements and on time

EHS

• Participate in monthly JHSC meetings

• Manage facility related action items

• Partner with the EHS Manager to ensure compliance with Canadian EHS requirements

• Manage external contractors for compliance to all Baxter EHS polices and procedures

Vendor and Contract Management

• Manage the relationship with outsources vendors such as maintenance, cleaning, pest control, security and service contractors

• Review, document and process vendor and contract invoicing on a monthly basis in compliance with Finance accrual and submission requirements

• Support the purchasing department with subject matter expertise in vendor setup.  This includes contract renewal and development, obtaining required documentation and sign-offs to facilitate vendor use

• Maintain and update Facilities budget, and provide input to the budget review process

Facility Maintenance

• Support and troubleshoot maintenance issues and failures.

• Arrange and track repairs as necessary

• Perform general facility inspections to identify and maintenance related issues

• Keep regular maintenance reports/records and communication with facility landlord and services contractors i.e. pest control, cleaning, and critical equipment

• Hazardous and non-hazardous waste management (including maintaining and managing hazardous waste area, preparing shipments and arranging for waste pick ups)

PM Program Facility Equipment

• Ensure preventative maintenance is performed per requirements and on time

• Further develop and improve the preventative maintenance program

Qualifications

Required:

• Post-secondary education or relevant work experience

• Experience working in a Technical Services environment in pharmaceutical production, healthcare or other regulated industries

• PM/CMMS experience

Preferred:

• Undergraduate University Degree

• Working experience and knowledge of Enterprise Management Systems (EMS) or lean business concepts

• Knowledge and experience with facility systems and services vendors/contractors
