The Role
As a Senior Accountant with German your position will be a part of a newly formed Accounting Centre of Excellence (CoE). The role of the Accounting CoE is to ensure accuracy and integrity of US GAAP and statutory financial statements for entities across the EMEA region. As part of this team you will also provide expertise in complex accounting matters and decisions and build strong partnership with the Shared Service Centre. You will also work with local country finance, commercial and other functional organizations to support financial and accounting processes in compliance with US GAAP, statutory requirements and company’s policies and procedures.
 
Responsibilities
  • Support the controller and the team in executing US GAAP , statutory and tax accounting and reporting for the entities in scope; ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to Baxter’s processes, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that local rules and regulations, internal and external audit regulations and requirements are met.
  • Work closely with Shared Service Centre and service delivery partners in execution of end to end finance processes.
  • Support resolution of complex accounting and tax issues.
  • Support local, regional and global projects, as required; provide financial support in such projects.
  • Maintain focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or part qualifies/qualified ACCA/CIMA.
  • Extensive, relevant professional experience.
  • Proven experience in a multinational environment and/or audit.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and tax matters.
  • Knowledge of local GAAP’s for the countries in scope.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken French and English.
  • Experience with JD Edwards and Pega tools an advantage.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
